The story of RIP VAN WINKLE is a story from the author Washington Irving that tells the story of  a man that was very social in his past, but he got drunk, fell asleep and woke up 20 years later. When he wakes up he notice that everything was different including his gun.  He asked for his friends, the villagers told him that two of die in the war, and one has become the General. He hears the voice of his daughter and ask her for her name, she said Judith Gardenier, he asked her again the name of his father, she respond: " oh, poor man Rip Van winkle was his name, he was going into the woods and never return only his dog return, nobody knows if he shot himself or he got lost in the way".Then Rip made ​​him one last question: Where is your mother? to which the woman replied;” she died shortly after I broke a blood vessel in a fit of passion from a street vendor in New England . He was very sad and told the lady he was her father. An elderly lady approached him with a smile on his face said " yes  this is Rip Van Winkle I would recognize that face anywhere".
